Switzerland County Welcomes SIILC
TEC Center to Host Purdue “Skills for Success” Program
New community services move to Vevay! Southeastern Indiana Independent Living Center (SIILC) relocated its office from Versailles to Vevay. SIILC is a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services to individuals to help them remain living at home within the community rather than living in facilities such as nursing homes. SIILC has provided services to southeastern Indiana for the past eight years from the Versailles location. The staff and Board of Directors noticed a couple of years ago a high volume of service needs particularly in Switzerland County and decided it best to meet those needs of this community by relocating to Vevay.
SIILC is ready to meet the needs of the community by providing programs and services to those in need of access to assistive technology devices, services for the visually impaired, in-home care services for those needing such services as homemaking, cleaning, meal preparation, transportation for doctors’ appointments, grocery shopping, assistance with bathing, and much more. SIILC employs local community members to provide such services to those needing assistance to remain living in their own homes.
SIILC would like to especially thank the help of the Switzerland County Economic Development Corporation and also Steve Crabtree of the Vevay-Switzerland County Foundation for the support to promote and advocate the organization’s welcome to the community.
