The total economic benefit to the area of the construction and operation of PSS is estimated at more than eleven million dollars over the next seven years.
The Switzerland County Economic Development Corporation will be assisting PSS as they prepare to construct their facility and bring their business to Switzerland County. PSS was assisted in their search for a site by Vevay realtor, Teresa Bovard Lyons.
“PSS is a great fit for our community,” said Jon Bond of the Switzerland County Economic Development Corporation. “They are a family-owned company and committed to training a skilled workforce.”
Over the next sixty days, construction will begin to extend remaining infrastructure to the new PSS site.
Switzerland County purchased the property for the 100 acre Markland Business Park in 2007. Since that time the project has gone through extensive design and permitting with state and federal agencies. The extension of utilities to the site began in 2008 and has continued through 2009. The site has been certified as Shovel Ready by the State of Indiana.
Switzerland County is currently pursuing a Federal grant to construct the needed infrastructure for the remainder of the property, including a new entrance drive and storm drainage system. Construction of the new drive is anticipated to take place in the spring of 2010.
